Repointing a 1700's Barn Conversion

Project Details

Before and after pictures of a 1700s barn conversion in Puddington. Repointing renovations had been carried out 10 years ago (by another firm) but sadly they had used incorrect materials (sand and cement). The property was built over 200 years prior to the invention of cement, a material which is just too hard for a building of this age. The problem had become so extensive, the only option was to have it redone.

After a thorough assessment by GMT, we correctly pointed this in a natural hydraulic lime (no cement) This new restoration is expected to last longer than a lifetime.
